The Power of the Great Invocation

The Power of the Great Invocation for Light Love and Divine Purpose

In a time when the world feels increasingly divided and burdened by conflict, fear, and uncertainty, humanity is collectively seeking deeper meaning, connection, and healing. Among the many spiritual tools available to us, The Power of the Great Invocation stands out as one of the most potent mantras for planetary transformation and service.

Given to the world in 1945 through Alice Bailey, under the inspiration of the Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul, this universal prayer has been used by millions across the globe as a way to invoke divine light, love, and power—not just for personal growth, but for the upliftment of all humanity.

What Is the Great Invocation?

The Power of the Great Invocation is more than just a prayer. It is a powerful spiritual formula—an act of service that aligns the one who says it with the divine plan and opens a conduit through which light and love can flow into the world. It reads:

From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.

From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Why Is It So Powerful?

According to Lucis Trust, the organization established to preserve and promote the teachings of Alice Bailey and the Ageless Wisdom tradition, the Great Invocation is a tool that can help “bring about constructive changes in the world and in the consciousness of humanity.”

Here are several reasons it is considered so powerful:

  1. Universal Language of the Soul

The Great Invocation doesn’t align with any particular religion or belief system. Its beauty lies in its universality—speaking to the heart of all spiritual seekers, regardless of path. Its inclusive language calls on forces beyond our understanding to help humanity awaken and evolve.

  1. Invocation of Higher Energies

Each stanza calls upon specific divine aspects:

  • Light – the divine intelligence and illumination that dispels ignorance.
  • Love – the unifying force that binds all beings and fosters compassion.
  • Power (Will) – the spiritual will to do good and carry out the Divine Plan.
  1. A Service to Humanity

When spoken with intention, the Great Invocation becomes an act of planetary service. It’s a group tool—meant to be used not only individually but collectively—helping anchor higher energies into our world for healing, reconciliation, and peace.

  1. An Alignment with the Divine Plan

The phrase “restore the Plan on Earth” reflects the idea that there is a divine blueprint or evolutionary path for humanity and the planet. By using the Invocation, we become active participants in bringing this plan into manifestation.

How to Use the Great Invocation

  • Daily Practice: Recite it as part of your morning or evening meditation. Visualize light flowing from divine sources into your own heart and mind, then outwa. rd into the world.
  • During World Events or Crises: Use it as a prayer for peace, unity, and healing wherever there is suffering.
  • Full Moon Meditations: Many groups across the globe use The Great Invocation during the full moon to align with powerful spiritual energies and to assist in planetary transformation.

Group Use and the Spirit of Goodwill

One of the key principles behind this invocation is goodwill—that essential expression of divine love in action. According to Lucis Trust, the Great Invocation, especially when used by groups, can help generate a “worldwide spiritual climate of thought,” uplifting the consciousness of all beings.

The work of transmission becomes even more potent when done in unity. When many minds and hearts come together, consciously focusing on light, love, and purpose, the effect is magnified—radiating like a beacon of hope and harmony across the globe.

In Conclusion, A Spiritual Tool for a New World

The Great Invocation is not a mere relic of esoteric teachings; it is a living prayer—a mantra for the New Age. It reminds us that change begins from within, and through our conscious intention and invocation of divine energies, we can help usher in a world of peace, justice, and spiritual fulfillment.

As Djwhal Khul once shared through Alice Bailey, this prayer is “for all people of goodwill,” and by using it regularly, we participate in the unfolding of a divine vision—one where light, love, and power restore the plan on Earth.
